Vitamin C is a strong nutrient that helps make skin brighter, reduce dark spots, and make it more elastic. That’s why skincare products with vitamin C are so popular
One such product is the Dot & Key Vitamin C+E Super Bright Moisturizer. It claims to reduce dullness, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation, and it’s suitable for all skin types.
But does it really live up to the hype? I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and here’s my honest review.
The first thing that caught our attention was the lofty claims of reducing dullness, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation. If you’re struggling with any of these skin concerns, this moisturizer might pique your interest. It’s suitable for all skin types, making it an inclusive choice.

This moisturizer feels like a light, refreshing gel on the skin. It’s not greasy or sticky, which makes it a good choice for people with oily skin. It absorbs quickly and provide a matte finish to the skin. People with combination skin may find it to be hydrating enough, but people with dry skin may find it to be too lightweight, especially in cold weather.
The scent of this moisturizer is zesty, citrusy, somewhat like orange peel, but not overpowering. What’s even better is that the scent dissipates immediately after application, making it perfect for those who like to keep their skincare to a minimum when it comes to fragrance.
Pros of Dot & Key Vitamin C+E Moisturizer
- Lightweight and non-greasy
- Absorbs quickly
- Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth
- Subtle citrus scent
- Not very hydrating
- Didn’t notice any significant brightening effects
Dot & Key Vitamin C+E Moisturizer Review & My Experience
When it comes to glowing skin, we have to admit that our experience doesn’t completely line up with the product’s claims. After using it continuously, day and night, for two weeks, we found it to be a lightweight and non-greasy option. It absorbs quickly, leaving your skin with the desired matte finish. Individuals with oily skin will especially appreciate this quality.
However, if you have dry skin, you may not find it moisturizing enough. The consistency of the formula is somewhat thin, and using too much may result in a slight film-like residue, which may not be suitable for everyone. The good thing is that if you’re layering products underneath, this moisturizer can help seal them ineffectively. But if you have dry skin you can go for Cetaphil Ultra Hydrating Skin lotion or another best options is Derma Co 3% Vitamin E Face Moisturizer.
In conclusion, Dot & Key Vitamin C+E Super Bright Moisturizer is a good product, but it didn’t add as much shine as we hoped. It’s neither a miracle nor a disappointment. It’s a safe option for those who want an essential moisturizer with the added benefits of vitamin C. Ultimately, the efficacy of skin care products can vary from person to person, so it’s worth trying it out if it suits your skin type and needs.
Overall Rating: 3/5 stars
I would recommend the Dot & Key Vitamin C+E Super Bright Moisturizer to people with oily / combination /normal skin who are looking for a lightweight, non-greasy moisturizer. However, I don’t think it’s worth the hype if you’re looking for a product that will dramatically brighten your skin.
